There are
many areas where laws exist to protect children. Issues affecting children
can often arise in divorce cases although in the absence of any active
dispute the Courts will have a non-interventionist approach. However,
if asked, the Courts can make Contact orders specifying the times at
which the non-resident parent can see the child or make what are known
as Specific Issues and Prohibited Steps Orders to deal eg with where
a child might be educated or to prevent a child being removed from the
country.
Of course the law
is also there to protect a child threatened by abuse which may mean
steps are taken to place a child into Local Authority care.
Wherever the
law becomes involved with children, then sensitive and emotive issues
are bound to be raised. Our lawyers' experience in dealing with these
issues will help provide you with the guidance you need to ensure that
the law does its best for your children.
